The first-ever visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Slovakia

On 15 June 2026, Slovakia made diplomatic history. The Prime Minister of the Republic of India visited Bratislava, marking the first-ever official visit of an Indian Prime Minister to the Slovak Republic. This significant event represents a new milestone in the relations between Slovakia and one of the world's most important economies. As part of the official state visit programme, the delegation also enjoyed a representative cruise on the Danube aboard the Harmónia, one of Slovakia’s most prestigious passenger vessels. The unique atmosphere of the Danube, the stunning panoramas of Bratislava, and the elegant interiors of the ship provided a distinguished setting for meetings and informal discussions between the delegations.
