Gabčíkovo dam roundtrip
Popular trip on our boat Harmónia to waterwork Gabčíkovo with crossing of the lock chambers.
Waterwork Gabčíkovo was finished in 1992 after 15 years of construction. The intention of the builders was to prevent floods and create reliable fairway on constantly changing river Danube. Two lock chambers and water power plant were built in Gabčíkovo. The waterwork was built to generate electric power, to overcome the difference in water levels in the lock chambers and to prevent possible floods. Chambers are situated on the left side of the river. There is also a 10m wide bridge above the river. The operation is fully automated and you can watch the whole proccess from the bridge. Each chamber can be filled with 299 000 m3 of water. Filling and draining of the chambers takes around 30 minutes.

Important information
- The ticket price includes a Slovak-speaking guide/ interpretation during the cruise/. In case of non-crossing of the ship by the lock due to bad weather, the fare will not be refunded.
- Drinks are not included in the ticket price.
- The cruise will take place with a minimum of 100 passengers.
- SPaP- LOD a.s. reserves the right to cancel the cruise in case of low number of passengers or to transfer the cruise to a smaller ship from the SPaP- LOD.a.s. fleet.
- During the cruise it is possible to buy a hot meal (soup, main meal) and dessert.
Cancellation policy:
- Free cancellation possible 48 hours or more before the start of the cruise according to the cruise calendar, 100% refund.
- Less than 48 hours up to 1 hour before the start of the cruise, possibility of 50% refund.
- Less than 1 hour before the start of the cruise or no boarding - no refund
- Passengers board 15 minutes before departure!
- For groups of 10 persons or more, written reservation required..
- General conditions of carriage are part of the ship's timetable. SPaP - LOD, a.s. reserves the right to change prices, dates and programs, due to facts that were not known at the time of closing of the ship's timetable!
- Closing date of the 2025 timetable: December 2026.
