Bratislava City Days – Winter Port, Propeller and Devín

We are a part of Bratislava, its history and the present time, and we are proud of it. That's why the LOD Company cannot be missed among the participants in Bratislava City Days, and we are happy to support the our city again. In addition, the opening of the 2024 cruise season is taking place in the same time. Find out what we have prepared for you.

Discover the Winter Port - a place  which normally cannot be visited by the general public

Do you know where the ships are in the winter and where their maintenance is done? Did you know that ships are lifted out of the water using a ship lift? Do you want to take a closer look at the giant machines that work at this place?

On the occasion of the Opening of the season, we are extending the Bratislava Round Trip cruise to the Winter Port.

The Bratislava Roud Trip cruise offers the most beautiful views of Bratislava. Firstly you can enjoy the view of the historical part of Bratislava, its river bank and the Castle of Bratislava. The tour continues under the SNP Bridge, which is one of the city´s main dominant sights, until the Lafranconi Bridge where the boats turns. On the way back, you will enjoy the natural beauty on the other bank of the Danube with the Janko Kráľ Garden, the oldest public park in Central Europe. Then the tour goes on under the Old Bridge, past shopping centre Eurovea, the new skyscraper and the Octahedral Body sculpture by Viktor Freš, under the Apollo Bridge and the Harbor Bridge, and finally our boat will enter the Winter Port.

Firstly you will see the South Pool with a historic ship lift and the tugboat Šturec, then the tour continues to the Shipyard, which survived the bombing during the Second World War when the port served the German Empire, and finally to the Northern pool with the transshipment yard where huge cranes and machines in full working process can be observed.

The Bratislava Round Trip with the extension to the to the Winter Port takes 1 hour.
The price of this exceptional cruise is the same as for the regular Bratislava Round Trip: € 13/adult, € 10/child 2-10 years old.
During the Opening of the season, i.e. on 20.4. and 21.4. 2024 the Bratislava Round Trip takes place at 10:00 and 15:30 p.m.

Propeller for free as a part of Bratislava City Days

The Propeller was once a popular and commonly used way of getting from the Old Town to Petržalka. Today it is only a historical memory, however, during the Bratislava City Days, the legendary Propeller will come to life again and you can enjoy a cruise between the banks of the Danube with unusual views of Bratislava's landmarks. On the occasion of Bratislava City Days, our company provides a free boat ride for everyone who would like to remember the old days and show the younger generation how it used to be like when the Old Town of Bratislava and Petržalka were not yet connected by so many bridges.

The Propeller will operate on Saturday, 20.4.2024. The place must be reserved in advance. Bookings are managed by the BKIS Information Centre. For reservations and information please visit their website.
Times and place of operation of Propeller:

There will be a rich program in the Old Town and in the Janko Kráľ Park during the Bratislava City Days. Use an unconventional way of transport to get there and see the most beautiful part of Bratislava from the surface of the Danube.

A favourite cruise to the Devin Castle is also available

We will go to Devín twice during the opening of the season, on both days at 10:00 a.m.
The cruise to Devín takes 1.5 hours. While the Bratislava Round Trip ends below the Lanfranconi bridge, this cruise goes further upstream. While enjoying pleasant views to the nature scenery surrounding the river banks, we will find ourselves on the border of the two countries which once had been two different worlds.
Medieval castle Devín (12. to 16. century) is a national cultural monument that is located on a hill,  212 m above the sea level, above the confluence of the rivers Danube and Morava. It was built on a place of Roman building and Great Moravian fortified settlement and the place is definitely worth a visit because of the wonderful views. The nature and historical value of the area will win you over.

On the 20.4. and 21.4.2024 the boat to Devín operates as follows:
10:00  departure from the pontoon 52, platform 1
